For adults with questions about attention

Can an online ADHD screen diagnose ADHD?

No. A screen can suggest whether a fuller evaluation is worth discussing, but only a qualified professional can diagnose ADHD. That evaluation looks at your history, how symptoms affect daily life and other possible explanations such as stress, sleep or anxiety. In Threaded Care, adult screening is available after you create an account and set up an adult profile.

What this can look like

Illustrative examples, not customer stories or testimonials.

Illustrative example: preparing for a first appointment

Sam, 34, has wondered about ADHD since college. Before seeing his doctor he writes down three recent examples, when he first noticed them and what has helped, so the appointment is about real situations.

Illustrative example: a parent wondering about herself

After her son's evaluation, Nadia recognizes some of the same patterns in herself. She sets up her own adult profile separate from her son's and looks at what screening is available to her.

What Threaded Care actually does here

How screening works in Threaded Care, in order.

1. Create an account

Sign up at app.threaded.care. Screening is not an instant public quiz on this website.

2. Set up an adult profile

Adult screening is tied to an adult profile, separate from any child profiles.

3. View available in-app screening

Complete the screening available for your profile and keep the results with your own information to discuss with a professional.

What it is not: This page does not reproduce any questionnaire or scoring. Threaded Care screening is not a diagnosis, and Threaded Care does not prescribe medication.

Questions people ask

Is the screening free and instant?
It is not a public instant quiz. Screening is available inside the app after you create an account and an adult profile.
Which screening tool is used?
Available tools depend on your profile type and are shown inside the app. We do not reproduce any questionnaire on this site.
What if my screen suggests ADHD?
Treat it as a reason to talk with a qualified professional, not as a diagnosis.
What else can look like ADHD?
NIMH lists stress, sleep problems, anxiety and other conditions among things that can resemble ADHD.
Can women be missed in childhood?
NIMH notes some girls and women may not have been identified as children. That does not mean every woman has ADHD.

Limitation: General health education. It does not mean every woman or every adult who is distracted has ADHD.

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder: What You Need to Know(opens in a new tab)

National Institute of Mental Health · 2024

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention · October 10, 2024

Limitation: Self-reported current diagnosis, not a screening or prevalence of symptoms.
